NOT WORKING
I have been in busy as a bee since yesterday. Was cleaning and tidying up the house as were expecting company, Ralph older brother Larry and his kids. We had to leave around 4:3o pm yesterday to drop of Kayla to her mommy’s for the weekend. We got home just as Larry and his kids pulled in our driveway. The last time we saw them was last August for Kayla’s birthday. They were so excited to see the baby walking, Uncle Larry gave Kayla and Kaitlyn a little Dora chair. Kaitlyn was of course very shy and scared of her uncle at first. She held on to me like glue and would not budge or even look at Larry. It took her probably about 15 min before she warmed up to them. She was wearing a black long sleeved onesies with a glow in the dark skeleton sprint and black tights with her sneakers. Eventually she got over her shyness and smiled and even let Uncle Larry hold her.
This morning it was another story, she again would not go to him. He had to bring out and bribe her with cheerios before she finally went to him,lol. Ralph got home around 4 and Kaitlyn immediately went to him and was babbling like crazy and whining a lot and pointing to her Uncle. I guess she was trying to tell daddy that her uncle is scaring her,lol. We had a good meal with baked chicken, buttered noodles, spinach, salad, Italian bread. When Ralph got home he handed me a box mixture of brownies and a can of nuts and asked me if i could make brownies after dinner. After the meal and after everything was put in the dishwasher and the food put away i decide to make the brownies. I was done making them and turned the oven on. When i opened the oven to my surprise it wasn’t hot. I turned it off and turned it on again, It was not working. I had to call Ralph and tell him about this, he jiggled and tried to see what was wrong. The broiler was working but when you would put it to bake it would not lit up. The oven had finally given up on us, which was a surprise as we just baked chicken not 2 hrs ago. I had to go to our neighbours house and asked if i could put my brownies in the oven, it was embarrassing but i didn’t want my brownies to go to waste. Its a good thing we know them and our kids and friends.
Now, we are in a dilemma on what to do. We cant afford to get a new stove just yet and we are having a little get together this coming Saturday for Kaitlyn and her Daddy’s birthday. It will be Kaitlyn’s 1st birthday and daddy’s 39th, well officially there birthday is on the 22nd but we will have a the celebration on the weekend. We will still have cake on day itself. What are we going to do with food? We planned on baking a lot of food, i guess we will have to change our menu and find something that we don’t have to bake. Oh well, God is always good and he will always provide. Who knows maybe ill try the oven again tomorrow, it might work,lol…. Wish me luck!!
