HOW DO YOU KNOW?
Have you ever marveled at how a mother, father knows the need of the child even if it cannot speak or act what it wants? I do, I’m always amazed at how much and how little i know our daughters. With Kayla I’m getting to know her actions, body language, her whine, cry, tone of voice and expression. In Ralph’s case he knows Kayla more than i do since he took care of her alone before he even met me. With Kaitlyn’s case its different. Why? Because I’m her mother, i carried her for nine months, gave birth to her, fed her and change her. We were both inseparable when she was just an infant also because i choose to breastfeed her. I don’t have any regrets about that at all, in fact I’m glad that i did get to do that for her. It created a bond between the two of us that words could not express. I was so worried at first that i would not be able to know or let alone take care of her needs. But instincts do kick in and i just learned to follow it and it never failed. Now that she is older and learning slowly day by day to talk she will one day be able to tell me in words not in baby talk what she wants or needs. Still, i believe that we will forever know what they need that is until they reach puberty! But anyway, these are some things i know about Kaitlyn:
SLEEPY OR TIRED :
As soon as she keeps touching the side of her face and ears that signals to me that she is getting tired even if she is still active and playing. That is the most obvious sign that she is getting tired or sleepy.
HUNGRY :
Smacks her lips all the time and would suck on her index finger or her whole hands altogether. But the most obvious is going near you as soon as she sees you eating, looking up at you with vocalization.
POOPING :
Face turns beet red, grunts and pushes while sitting.. Now that she is mobile she poops standing up while lifting her other foot on tiptoes.
SLEEPING POSITION:
Likes to sleep on her tummy with both her hands tuck underneath her and butt sticking up in the air. Doesnt like blankets and moves around her crib like a clock.
Those are just a few things i know about Kaitlyn and everyday is a new discovery for both her and the whole family. What about you how do you know your kids?
